LumoHawk Foundation returned to sunny Stellenbosch on Friday, 5 April to facilitate the first in a series of glasses’ handovers, this one at Simonsig after-school. The next handover is due on 13 April in Grabouw, for the Monteith after-school.
During the 2019 Absa Cape Epic, LumoHawk’s team of student optometrists from the University of Johannesburg tested the eyes of 148 children in total. Those who were identified as needing glasses will now receive custom-made spectacles as part of Joel Stransky’s initiative, in partnership with Absa South Africa’s Vision 2020.
