The past weekend was an active one for the Anna Foundation’s children. With such lovely weather and scenic trails, we wouldn’t have it any other way!
On Saturday (9 February), the children from the Simonsig after-school brightened up the 5 km Simonsig Fun Run hosted by Trail Fun Series. Bradwill Arendse (grade 7), had an excellent race time of just 26 minutes! All the other children also did an amazing job and enjoyed playing and having ice cream afterwards.
The fun continued on Sunday, when children from the Buffet Olives, Fairview and Kanonkop after-schools braved the 7 km Simonsberg Fairtree Contour Trail Run at Dirtopia. The Anna Foundation’s boys made light work of the challenging trail, taking first, second and third places in the Men’s 7 km race.
Well done to Ricardo Claasen (grade 7), Linwille Lewak (grade 9) and Jadrian Goosen (grade 9) – all three boys are from the Buffet Olives after-school. To add to the excitement, Anna Brom (founder and director) took second place in the Ladies’ 25 km! Quite a few of the girls now dream of becoming runners after seeing her take her place on the podium.
