School holidays were anything but quiet in Rawsonville! Our learners from Merwida and Lorraine came together for an action-packed Sports Day! With excitement and laughter filling the air, this was a wonderful opportunity for children to stay active, have fun and enjoy their time off from school.
A Day of Fun and Games
The event was a hit from start to finish, with our dedicated facilitators setting up a range of engaging activities and games to keep the learners moving and entertained. Stations with different games were spread out, allowing the children to try their hands (and feet!) at various activities. Whether it was relay races or obstacle courses, the energy levels were high.
But the real showstoppers were the jumping castle and water slide, which brought an extra element of excitement to the day! Even though the weather was cool, it didn’t stop our learners from slipping and sliding with big smiles on their faces.
A Special Thank You to Our Partners
We couldn’t have pulled off this fantastic event without the support of the Du Toitskloof Fairtrade Initiative, who played a key role in planning and organising the day. Their assistance made it possible for our learners to experience a day of fun and community-building. We are so grateful for their commitment to making this event a success.
Building Friendships and Memories
Beyond the games and activities, the Sports Day brought together children from different schools. Events like these are a wonderful way for our learners to bond, develop teamwork skills and share positive experiences that will stay with them long after the day is over.
As we look back on the smiles, laughter and memories made during this unforgettable Sports Day, we are reminded of the importance of creating spaces where children can thrive, have fun and connect with one another. It was a day full of joy and we look forward to many more events like this in the future!
